Topic Learning Journey
Vision (Intent)
‘Explore, Create, Discover’
Students at our school will be taught a topic curriculum which is diverse and filled with new and interesting learning experiences. They will explore their local surroundings and its history, as well as discover the difference between where we live and other places around the country and the wider world. Our topic teaching will create global citizens who can think both critically and creatively to solve problems. Through the topic curriculum our students will develop in their understanding and tolerance of the world around them – the people, the places the processes – and this will feed their curiosity. Through a creative curriculum our students will learn to express themselves in a range of situations and methods which they will be able to use in all aspects of their lives. Students will find lots of opportunities to build on their learning outside of the classroom, visit places of interest connected to their learning and be exposed to cultural capital.
