At Heritage Park School and Holgate Meadows School we listen to our students, their concerns and their ideas for improvement.
We also encourage our pupils to take responsibility for making and maintaining the heart and character of the schools.
We use the Smart School Councils model, which gives us an easy way to involve every pupil in decision-making, social action and developing key skills for life. A team of students meet weekly, where possible, to co-ordinate class meetings and the actions that students wish to make happen around school. Each pupil then gets to vote on a question each week, in order to decide which things to focus on and some of the ways in which we can make it happen.
