Safeguarding and Inclusion Leader

Imran Bashir

I am passionate about working with children, young people, and their families, and over the years have worked with some of the most vulnerable people in society.

My career has involved me working within the youth justice system and probation which included working in a secure unit with teenagers and adult inmates within a prison. Following this, I went on to work within children, young people, and families’ services in Birmingham on a social work, duty and assessment team responding to child protection referrals. I then moved back to Sheffield working as an education welfare officer supporting young people to attend school. For the past 11 years, I have worked within education as part of safeguarding and inclusion at an outstanding secondary and sixth form school in the west of Sheffield.

I am a firm believer that every child should have the best start to life regardless of family circumstances and SEND needs. I also believe with the right support children can achieve academically and become successful adults.

Most recently, I have studied and qualified to become a trauma and mental health informed practitioner which will really help me to build relationships with students at Holgate Meadows and provide effective support.

I am really looking forward to working at Holgate Meadows School, with the students and their families. I am determined to ensure that every child feels happy and safe at Holgate Meadows and is able to thrive and experience success whatever that may look like.

I am also keen to build relationships with parents and carers of our students as I believe it is important that they have trust in Holgate Meadows and play a part in their children’s success.
